What We Do:

The Women’s Center of Montgomery County (WCMC) is a volunteer, community organization with a primary focus on freedom from domestic violence and other forms of abuse. Our programs, policies and procedures reflect our strong commitment to empowering women.
Established in 1976, the WCMC works to eliminate domestic violence. Using Intervention, Prevention and Empowerment methodologies, we work to save lives, promote self-sufficiency, create institutional change and reduce the impact of domestic violence. Services include:

Intervention: 24hr.hotline; peer/group counseling; legal advocacy/court accompaniment; relocation & safe housing;
Prevention: education to create awareness about abuse dynamics; systems training to improve victim access to services; teen dating violence programs;
Medical Advocacy: training in universal screening, identification, intervention; elder abuse, strangulation, traumatic brain injury screening, birth advocacy;
Underserved populations initiatives: Latino, LGBTQIA, elderly
