||Mental Health Partnership Seeks Family Mentors
Do you have experience as the parent or primary caretaker of a child or teen with behavioral health challenges, either currently or in the past? Are you the person in your neighborhood who other parents seek out for support and with questions when they are facing barriers in getting help for their own children? Do you believe that all of our children can and deserve to be happy, healthy and included members of our community? If so – we want you to join us!
Our Family Peer Support Partners provide support, advocacy, information and referrals to families whose children have emotional or behavioral concerns, using their own unique experience to inspire hope and provide support to others who are facing similar challenges.
In addition to providing direct support to families, other duties may include: leading or facilitating psycho educational and support groups, planning and facilitating meetings, trainings and focus groups for stakeholders, and helping to build natural supports and community connections for families and youth. As Family Leaders, our Family Peer Support Partners represent our program at workshops, conferences, and local and state committees on topics pertaining to children’s behavioral health, family advocacy, peer programming and related issues.
