Advocacy

The Bucks-Mont Collaborative serves as a voice for health and human service agencies and the people they serve.

We inform candidates for public office and elected officials of the needs in our community. Periodically, forums or visits are scheduled, and members have the opportunity to interact directly with candidates and elected officials.

Representatives of various elected officials attend our membership meetings on a regular basis.

The Collaborative has surveyed its members to aggregate the economic impact of the nonprofit sector in our region. We have also gathered statistics on the overall importance of the sector as a provider of highly skilled jobs.

When legislative actions on the federal, state or local levels threaten this key sector and, therefore, the health and well-being of the people we serve, the Collaborative provides tools (sample letters to the editor, talking points, training, etc.) to assist our members and the broader community to speak with one voice on behalf of our most vulnerable residents – older adults, children, people with disabilities, and many others.

You can use the information found on our Advocacy Toolkit page to create a message, then customize it with your specifics, identify your elected official(s) and email them right from this page.
